Dogs trust us, people love us
Amanda Anderson
Owner, Professional Groomer
"My name is Mandy Anderson and I am the owner of Mandy’s Pet Spa! Animals have always been my absolute passion. At 7 years of age I started riding horses and regularly competing, this led to my love for Jumpers and 3 day Eventing. On my down times at the shows I always found my self gravitating to the dogs that were attending with their owners. I loved interacting with them. In 2008 I started working as a bather/dryer at a local grooming salon in my home town. The wonderful owner trained me to groom and I was with her for 10 years. She saw my passion and love for the career and gave me a chance. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be where I am today! We moved to Cumming in 2018 and that is when we opened up Mandy’s Pet Spa! With hard work, dedication, and our amazing clients, it has became an amazing atmosphere! I have 2 fur babies of my own. Savannah and Rocket. They are German Wirehaired Pointers, and make our house very entertaining! We have showed them in conformation and Savannah received her Champion! Rocket needs 3 more points for his Champion, and has trained for his Junior Hunter title and has received one leg toward it."
Michelle Cloud
Professional Groomer
Hey! I'm Michelle. I was born in Indiana and moved to Georgia with my parents in in the 80s. I have been grooming for over 22 years. It took a long time for me to find my passion in life, starting with factory work and supervising to office work. Thankfully, I finally found my true calling as a dog groomer. I have won Best of Dawson for pet groomer 5 years running and am so grateful to all of my loyal customers. As I have been Grooming for so long some of my favorite clients have come to become my favorite people! I have 3 shelties Maverick, Goose and Iceman. (I know right! It's a long story). These are my second set of 3 shelties. I have a very special place in my heart for them but I truly love all dogs. I am incredibly thankful to have such incredible clients (and their humans) to make me laugh every day.
Alyssa Wittig
Professional Groomer
"Hey there! My name is Alyssa and I am a 24 year old born and raised in the state of Pennsylvania who moved here about 7 years ago. Growing up all my relatives, neighbors and friends had some sort of animal; though, the ones I saw most was my grandparents' dogs. We weren't allowed to have a dog after we rehomed our first puppy- a German Shepherd named Boots. I was six years old at the time but I absolutely adored everything about him, and a few years later I became obsessed with any and every dog I saw. We had a very slow computer, but I spent all day and night searching up "police dogs", obedience trials, and more. I quickly found a friend around age 12 obsessed just as much as I was, and we would run the neighborhood barefoot with our neighbor's lab Molly, teaching her agility with a broom stick, plastic chairs, branches, anything we could find. We would make homemade dog treats, offer our own dog walking services, and more. I swear we had our neighbor's dog more than they did, lol!
I wasn't able to get my own dog until I moved out at age 20, and about a year later I found my soulmate, Josh. Fast forward two+ years and we are now married with our own house and 3 dogs: Wesson, Stark and Kilo. They are our world and If it wasn't for getting an opportunity to work at MPS, I wouldn't have any of this- I would have never met Josh.
In summer of 2019 I was working at Home Depot but was missing my job working with dogs at a boarding facility. I happened to be searching the web for jobs when I saw Mandy's ad for a bather. I fell in love with my job fast and I knew this was where I was supposed to be. I worked hard, yet I honestly never knew of grooming until working here. When Mandy offered to train me to groom, I was ecstatic. My favorite part was always (and still is) being able to build relationships with our clients- both people and dogs. I officially started grooming in 2020, and I couldn't be more in love with my career. I strive to be the best I can be and I could sincerely talk about my love and passion for dogs with you for hours (i'll spare you the time). I love each and every dog that crosses my path like my very own, and I always wish I could spend more than a couple hours with them. My biggest successes are earning the love and trust of someone else's animals.. its the best feeling ever. I hope you can trust us all too!"
Jesika Aderman
Professional Groomer
"Hi there! My name is Jesika and I've been a professional groomer since 2015. I absolutely love my job and feel so fortunate to be able to work with dogs and other animals every day. In fact, I love animals so much that I've rescued 4 dogs and 2 horses over the years, all of whom are now a cherished part of my family. One of my dogs, Pharah Irene, is particularly special to me - she comes to work with me every day and is always eager to lend a paw in the shop. In fact, she's one of the hardest working pups in the entire place! When I'm not grooming dogs or spending time with my own animals, you can find me out on the farm taking care of horses and mini donkeys. I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge, whether it's through attending seminars or keeping up with the latest grooming techniques. Grooming is truly my passion and I feel so grateful to be able to do what I love every day. Seeing a happy, well-groomed dog and a satisfied owner is what makes all the hard work worthwhile."
Katie Cole
Professional Groomer
"Hi! My name is Katie Cole and I am 24 years old. I’m from Cumming, GA but have lived in Dawsonville for almost 4 years now! I have always had a huge heart for animals. As a little girl, I was always doing something with my family dogs. From giving them baths to trying to set up agility courses for them in my front yard. When I was in high school, I got a job at a grooming salon working the front desk. From that point on, I knew I wanted to make my career dog grooming. In 2018 I started my grooming career and almost 5 years later, I couldn’t see myself in any other profession! When I am not at the shop, I really enjoy competing in dog sports with my personal dogs."
Lindsey T.
Professional Groomer
Lindsey is one of our newer groomers whom we just adore! With the sweetest soul Lindsey is just a pleasure to work with. She has her own dog, a border collie named Faith, and the most adorable little girl who is also 'one of the girls'!. Lindsey works 4 days a week and we will update this later when she gets the chance to make her own bio!
Erik Ocasio
Professional Groomer, 'Problem Dog' Expert
Erik is our part-time groomer that helps us out on Thursdays and Fridays. In his free time if he isn't doing something adventurous or traveling, he is training canines! Amongst many talents (including horrible dad jokes), Erik is incredibly gifted with difficult/aggressive dogs. You can quite literally watch a dog put their teeth on him and he wont move a muscle; he is seriously our champion in getting the dogs nobody else can do, done!
We will update his bio once he gets the chance to make his own.
